DIY Background
When the Dallas Pregnancy Resource Center asked me to shoot portraits of their clients at their Mother's Day Luncheon, I was inspired (partly by these portraits I recently ran across), to create a unique background on which to shoot them. My roll of 9-ft. white seamless was on it's last leg, so I just decided to paint it and see what happened. I was pretty happy with the way it came out. It maybe looks a little bit 1990's school portrait, but if I am able to throw it out of focus enough, I think it works. Adam Sims was kind enough to help me test in the day before in my garage.
