During a rare break in Dallas' summer monsoon, Sarah, Mom, Shan and I took a picnic down to White Rock Lake. Shan kind of invited herself, but we should have invited her without her hints. We had a wonderful time. Mom really knows how to do a picnic right. I always just throw it together, but she brings silverware, tupperware, sweet tea and the like. After we ate, we walked up through the wet grass and looked up under the big trees. We talked about how we used to get up under them and hide out. There were also a few fireflies.
I love this moment because it captures Shan in a rare moment of joy. I also love the look on Mom's face. The colors are beautiful too. You can't beat golden hour + film.
