Six years ago, after two years of academically unacceptable ratings, allegations of internal corruption, and a federal investigation, Wilmer-Hutchins Independent School District closed its doors forever. The entire senior class of Wilmer-Hutchins High School was absorbed by Dallas ISD's South Oak Cliff, and "The Hutch" was no more. This year, Wilmer-Hutchins High School is back open, now part of DISD, and the Eagles are off to an inspiring 3-0 start. The newly revived team defeated the Timberwolves of H. Grady Spruce High 48-27 at Pleasant Grove Stadium in Southeast Dallas on Friday, September 9, 2011.
